Worst St James' Park Record In 77 Years!

Newcastle have lost the last two league fixtures at home by three goals ... Portsmouth (1-4) and Liverpool (0-3) ... and the last time they did that was 77 years ago!

1930 United lost 4-0 to Liverpool, then 5-2 to Derby County.

But bounced back to beat Leeds United 4-1 the next game at Gallowgate.

Arsenal will be arriving in the North East with the usual Cockney swagger now they are five points clear at the top of the Premiership.

It is the sort of game the Magpies could well win, we've seen it before when the side has been put under pressure.

But Big Sam knows a capitulation would prompt an even more furious response than the Liverpool defeat brought from natives losing patience with their new manager.

Sam Allardyce: "I'm not hiding from the fact we deserved it (being booed against Liverpool) but it was a bit volatile.

"It was made worse by the fact it was two games on the trot, but I can handle it."

Another big defeat would have Sam rewriting the Geordie record books, and I'm sure it's something he could do without.
