Shola Ameobi looks like joining Steven Taylor and Danny Simpson as a doubt for Wednesday’s clash with Crystal Palace after departing the Hawthorns with his arm in a sling due to a shoulder injury.
But, although Taylor looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, the club have played down reports he will not play again this season.
Chris Hughton still hasn't given up hope on Ameobi playing against Palace, but Ryan Taylor is suspended after his second half red card.
Alan Smith: “A few extra bodies would be nice because we have lost a few players.
"I don’t know the extent of Steven Taylor’s injury, I don’t think anyone does because we have not had the scan results yet. But fingers crossed he is not out any longer than a couple of weeks. It would be a blow if we lost him, because we don’t have any experienced cover. A few new faces would be nice.”
