Taylor Goes If We Are Relegated?

... amazingly Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has told his young defender there will be no contract talks until the club have secured their place in the Premier League.

Keegan says talks over players' futures will not take place in the foreseeable future.

That may not please Taylor, who revealed at the weekend he feared he may have to move on after warning he will not be "mucked about".

The Geordie has been linked with a summer move away from St James' Park with, Liverpool said to be amongst those keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.

We all know how the call of a big club tempted Chris Waddle and Gazza, and I well remember Beardsley's wave to the Kop when we played at Anfield and Pedro was a NEWCASTLE player at the time.

But he was wearing the red of Liverpool soon afterwards.

As for Taylor, I remember Sir John Hall and Keegan saying "the days of selling our young stars are gone". And Newcastle United sure know how to make a youngster feel wanted.
