But the body language from the Frenchman said it all. He wanted to get off that Anfield pitch and he knew exactly what he was doing.

He has already tried to escape from his Geordie hell-hole by asking Arsenal to take him.

He believes he is too good for this team of ragamuffins, and who's to say he is wrong?

Manager John Carver admitted Sissoko could easily have been shown a straight red, and I believe that was what the player was after.

He was booked for an argument over a throw-in, and he was not a happy bunny after that.

Personally I think the referee gave him a second, rather than a red, because he felt the first card was probably OTT.

But, there is no doubting, the Frenchman has had enough of this club.

It is a club without a manager; no guarantees from Mike Ashley for players or management; the laughing stock of the country (AGAIN!); and Sissoko knows the end is very near.

John Carver: "The sending off, it could have been a straight red, I will be honest. I have said that to Moussa, I am quite straight and I won't defend anyone if it is indefensible."

Asked if Sissoko could be fined, Carver said: "I am sure there will be some kind of disciplinary procedure. I said before the game we needed to keep 11 players."
