Everton fans have found another reason to fall in love with Jordan Pickford, after their new star taunted Newcastle fans after Monday’s win.
But it is a hatred that is sure to continue, because the Geordie boys have long memories.
If there’s one thing football fans love more than winning, it’s winning and rubbing it in the other team’s faces. And Pickford did that for the Everton faithful on Monday evening.
But ... the Mackem "reject" will be returning to St James' Park next season, and as he was close to tears on Monday ... it will be 50,000 giving him grief rather than a few thousand.
The 24 year-old moved to Goodison for a big fee last summer, and has been the sole success story of the Toffees’ summer spending spree.
Newcastle fans understandably gave their former nemesis a fair bit of stick on Monday night, booing and taunting the youngster every time he touched the ball.
