New Look Anita

Although the Dutchman has started to get more involved in Newcastle’s disappointing run of results, I still wouldn't get too carried away the way Pardew is ... suggesting he is a world beater and the rest of the team need to rise to his performances.

He is certainly improving, make no mistake about it, but his contribution improves because he is taking the majority of the free-kicks and corners - I don't think he is covering any more ground than he did earlier in the season.

He is so small, he is a player who has to be protected by a tough midfield pairing, and with James Perch and Cheik Tioté, he could grow into it.

Anita: “I am a player who wants to win games. I always give my best, 100% or more.

“Winning is what it is about for me. It is not like that at the moment but I will keep going and I do have faith we can turn it around.

“We must stick together and try to win games, but I will continue to do my best.

“We gave them a really tough game.

“In the end we lost so we are disappointed.

“The things we did well we must keep to ourselves and let us take those things into the next match.”

"City have good quality and one chance for them can turn into a goal.

“It was like that on Saturday. We pressed them hard but they had one chance and scored. We had a lot of chances ourselves.

“At the moment for us it is just a story of almost, almost.

“Then they are given a chance and they score a goal. That is disappointing but we must keep going.

“If we have the same spirit against QPR then it will be a good day for us.

“We must win against them – and if we do then we can look further into the future.”
