Just Tell Them 'No' Keegan!

Keegan says the Faye-Taylor partnership works.

Keegan: "I think the link-up has been very, very good. And I think Faye's been a calming influence on Steven.

"In fact, if you look back to the Sunderland game there was a danger that, because Steven was a local, he would get caught up in the excitement of it too much.

"But credit to him, I thought he gave a very mature display, and I think Faye played his part in that."

But Faye is under contract at St James' Park ... he has not asked for a transfer ... so all KK had to say to Blackburn Rovers was "Sorry but he's staying here!"

Despite his alleged admiration for Faye, Keegan is still looking for a central defender, and one to fit straight into the team.

He tried to sign Jonathan Woodgate but Spurs edged him out of the deal, and we all know Richard Dunne is now KKs top target.

But Dunne was on his way until Hughes arrived at Manchester City, and even  a weekly wage of £78,000 offered by Portsmouth has failed to tempt him.

Spurs' central defender Anthony Gardner is heading for St James's Park, as one newspaperv puts it "he has not been considered good enough for Tottenham".

So why should we take Tottenham's cast-offs? Its players like Woodgate and Dunne we want ... not the players thet are replacing!

Let's not forget Rangers centre-half Carlos Cuellar ... and if KK has any pulling power, let's see him get to work on a player who is obvious class ... not someone's cast-off.
