26-year-old Enrique left St James’s Park last year after becoming disillusioned with life at St James' Park, saying he wanted to win medals.
He tasted glory at Wembley in the League Cup and played in the FA Cup final, but his former club comfortably finished above Liverpool in the Premier League.
Gutierrez – who is just a booking away from a one-game suspension – and Coloccini, Newcastle’s captain, still regularly speak to Enrique, who recently shaved his head.
