Former Newcastle United captain Mick Martin gave his verdict on the club’s misfiring front-three and in the process probably said how we all feel about Joelinton.
The ex-Magpies midfielder said: “Joelinton needs to start doing more,” Martin told Chronicle Live.
While Joelinton clearly needs to be among the goals more for the Magpies to have a successful season, he holds the ball well, but is as slow as an old cartr horse getting out of the blocks.
The Magpies attacker doesn’t have the same speed as a Supermac, or even Alan Shearer - after his bad injury.
It's a tough job for a striker in the Premier League, which is why they are the big earners in the game. But it is difficult to get goals due to a lack of service from his team mates.
The 23-year-old has also only managed to have 11 shots on goal this season, but once again, I put that down to the fact he doesn't get into the penalty area quick enough.
Only 27% of his shots have hit the target. (Source: BBC)
Is he good enough for the Premier League?
