Newcastle new boy Oguchi Onyewu goes straight into the squad for Saturday's Premiership trip to Fulham.
The 24-year-old United States defender is included in a travelling party in which Nolberto Solano also figures, after missing the 3-1 victory over former club Aston Villa in midweek through suspension.
Midfielder Nicky Butt suffered a knee injury in that game but is recovering well and could yet play at Craven Cottage.
Celestine Babayaro is short of match fitness, despite his return to training after a hamstring problem - and Emre (calf), Shay Given (groin), Peter Ramage and Craig Moore (both hamstring), Michael Owen and Charles N'Zogbia (both knee) and Shola Ameobi are still out.
