Emre has formally denied an FA charge of using racially-aggravated language.

FA statement: "Newcastle's Belozoglu Emre has denied a charge of using racially aggravated abusive and/or insulting words and has requested a personal hearing."

Match referee Dermot Gallagher did not hear what was said and after consulting his assistant, but he did include details of the allegations in his match report and the FA immediately launched an inquiry.

If convicted, he could face a lengthy ban, a heavy fine or both. But the player insists if he IS charged he will leave the country.

Glenn Roeder added to the troubles by insisting "any player who is found guilty of racism should be banned by his club for at least six months".

So what happens next? Could be very interesting.
