"When the summer arrives I will assess the situation and see where I stand," said the 29-year-old.
"I have 18 months left on my contract and the close season will be the time to begin talks on a new deal or think about other options."
At the moment it’s difficult to see Dabizas getting back into the team on a regular basis, particularly as Sir Bobby has said that he intends to sign another central defender, so it could be the end of an entertaining spell at St James’ Park.
