The skipper want assurances about the club’s plans for recruitment this summer.

Coloccini has never been afraid to express his opinion to Pardew and the went head-to-head in the dressing room at Stoke City.

When he signed a new long-term contract two years ago he did so because he thought the club were ambitious.

But he is concerned that there has been no investment at the club in the last transfer windows.

Fan-favourite Coloccini and Shola Ameobi have both made their feelings known in recent weeks.

United owner Mike Ashley is believed to have authorised a summer spending spree this term after failing to spend a penny on a permanent signing in the last two windows.

Talks have already started over signing Sunderland’s out of contract midfielder Jack Colback, although that is not the big name signing the fans had hoped for.

The transfer window opens officially for business on July 1.
