Yakubu agreed a deal earlier this month and the former Everton striker has now signed a three-year deal in the Far East.

Rovers had been favourites to sign Best, but they will have to make their move this week as Norwich City boss Chris Hughton has shown some interest in the last couple of days.

And I'm sure the option of Premiership - to Championship - is a no brainer. BUT ... can Norwich come up with the cash?

United are working on the deal over the weekend and although Best continued talks with Rovers on Friday over a proposed move, he has yet to talk to Hughton.

The Magpies are happy to let the player go for a fee of around £3million - plus add-ons if Rovers are promoted - and it is suggested Norwich could not match that valuation.

Yakubu: "It's a new adventure for me after playing in Israel and England.

"Many will ask why China? The truth is there is not much to prove after scoring almost a century of goals in a league considered as one of the best in the world (the Premier League).

"I thank Blackburn Rovers, the fans, fellow players for making my one season there seem like a decade - I appreciate their support (and) I hope the club will come back again into the top flight as soon as possible."

And obviously the MONEY doesn't come into it, of course. The fact Guangzhou have offered him almost double his current wage has nothing to do with it.
