I have spoken recently on this site about the amount of rumours on the internet and in newspapers that are generated to increase readers. This particular link however has come from respectable sources that are citing Freddy Shepherd has indeed already held preliminary talks with Franz Beckenbauer.
Kuffour, a veteran at only 28 of Champions League football with over 60 appearances, is best remembered for his tears and despair following the 1999 Champions League final defeat against Man.Utd.
The Ghanaian international will be out of contract in the summer and, rather than see him leave for nothing come June, Bayern may be willing to accept a cut price offer during the January window.
