Ashley Will NOT Replace Hughton Even If We Lose At Hull!

Chris Hughton has insisted Mike Ashley won't be appointing an emergency boss at St James' Park.

Stand-in Hughton has been told he is in charge until Joe Kinnear returns from a heart bypass operation, and says Ashley will shun calls for a big name like Terry Venables to be brought in for the 10 game run in.

Hughton has revealed that the Newcastle owner reckons having a FOURTH manager taking charge of United this season would simply bring more instability and change to the playing squad and not help their survival bid.

Former Spurs coach Hughton has already been criticised by a section of Geordie fans with a chant of: "You don't know what you're doing."

But Hughton said: "The club have made the decision to keep it the same, keep some consistency. That's why the club made the decision, because of what it has been through.

"Anyone coming in would be a new face for this group of players. They have seen quite a few new faces this season. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion."
