Ashley Rules Out Redknapp For Newcastle!

But - trust me on this one - Mike Ashley offered him the job before Kevin Keegan took over, and the Toon owner will NOT ask him again.

Redknapp considered the offer, but turned it down saying: "There is something not right with that club!

"I thought about it, but that is not the club for me."

Suggesting the owner would get in the way.

And Ashley knows he would soon be at logger-heads with him because Redknapp is very much his own man.

The 65-year-old former West Ham chief is eager to continue to manage, but it won't be at Newcastle.

Redknapp can also be backed at 8/1 to take the reins at Chelsea, despite Roberto Di Matteo being appointed on a permanent basis at Stamford Bridge just this week.

He is 12/1 to return to West Ham, and a 16/1 shot to go back to the place his managerial career began on the South coast with Bournemouth.
