Ashley Needs A Reality Check - Or A Couple More Brain Cells!

As we all know, the Newcastle owner has just recently become a Toon fan, and someone should give him a reality check.

Speculation continues to suggested Ashley is considering selling the club, but he insists that is not true ... although we seem to know different.

Keegan has made three signings this summer, with only Jonas Gutierrez thought to be of true international class. Danny Guthrie was a Liverpool reserve, and Sebastien Bassong hardly made an impact last season as Metz were relegated from the French league.

But Ashley believes we can break into the top four and match Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Ashley: "The top four have enormous resources but over time it must be possible to compete with them.

"I've invested £250million in Newcastle and so that and European nights of football must be the dream.

"Compared with some of the other owners in the Premier League, I may be a middleweight taking on heavyweights but I'm building the boxer up."

I can promise you ONE thing ... the £250m has certainly not been spent on players!

We couldn't even field a team (against PSV Eidhoven) with a single striker in the side!

How many of the current Newcastle squad would get into the Man Utd team? Or Chelsea team?

Shola Ameobi, Joey Barton, Jose Enrique?

The top four haven't built their empires on a shoestring, and let's hope Ashley starts sniffing the glove ... sooner rather than later.
