Acuna reveals quit options

The Chilean, recently recalled to the national teams, told The Journal: "The football in England is on a different level and the chance to play in the Champions League is too good to miss.

"It hasn't been easy to break into the side this season but I've enjoyed the experience of European football and I want more.

"The Champions League is another world and there are very few clubs who compete at that level. I love the atmosphere the matches generate, the quality of the opposition and the way the competition is organised.

"I could have left Newcastle during the transfer window but it would have meant giving up all of that."
