Sir Bobby is reported to have scouts watching Ipswich’s teenage winger Darren Ambrose. He’s a good prospect but surely we’ve got plenty of our own prospects at the moment.
Sheffield United midfielder Michael Tonge is also reported to be a target, although depending on which paper you read virtually every club in the Premiership (and Wigan) are watching him. Great young player.
West Ham’s Michael Carrick is reported to be keen to leave Glenn Roeder’s sinking ship to play for his hometown club. Good player, but not as good as Hugo or Jenas.
Pavel Nedved of Juventus has reportedly expressed an interest in playing for us. Nice idea, but seems a little bit unlikely.
And finally Michael Reiziger of Barcelona is apparently on his way in January, but he’s been on his way here for about the last two years so don’t hold your breath.
