Dabizas to return to scene of greatest moment?

The transfer-listed defender is finally back in action after recovering from the injuries he suffered in a summer car crash, and reports suggest that he is about to sign a loan deal with the Mackems.

Some of the reports claim that ‘Irish’ Mick McCarthy attended our reserve team’s 1-0 victory over Wolves on Monday, during which Dabizas made his comeback, and with the player stating that he is prepared to go out on loan people have been putting two and two together.

The Greece international told the Evening Chronicle: "If I was to go on loan to the Nationwide League it would only be for a short period to get games.

"I've played five-and-a-half years in the Premiership in some difficult periods for the club. I don't have to show people what I'm capable of.

"I know my long term future is not with Newcastle. Ideally, I would have liked to have stayed here for the rest of my career but it's not up to me. If it was up to me I'd love to stay here."

Somehow Dabizas just wouldn’t look right in red and white, and there’s only one thing I want to see him doing at the Stadium of Light and that’s score against the Mackems. Again.
