Matchweek 9 concludes on Monday evening at St James' Park as Newcastle United host Everton in an 8:00 pm kickoff.

The fixture arrives just four days after Everton knocked Newcastle out of the Carabao Cup with a clinical 3-1 victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, giving the home side an instant opportunity to respond in the league.

David Moyes' Everton side sit 11th in the table with 10 points from eight games, one point behind eighth-placed Newcastle.

The Toffees are searching for their first away victory of the league season, but their preparations have been clouded by Jack Grealish's disciplinary omission, while centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite faces a late fitness check after recovering from concussion.

Speaking at Finch Farm ahead of the team bus departing for Tyneside, Everton manager David Moyes underlined the challenge facing his players.

"Going to St James' Park under the lights is one of the toughest tests in the division," he said. "We showed great intensity against them in the cup, but this is a completely different game and we will need to match their physical output from the opening whistle."
