Mike Ashley has confirmed the £100m asking price for Newcastle United has been met, but there are a couple of issues to sort out before Moat picks up the keys.
The club released a statement saying that the offer had been received, and negotiations were still ongoing.
Allegedly, the Kevin Keegan compensation claim is a factor in the delay, and Ashley is said to be closing in on a deal to secure a new, reduced overdraft facility with the banks.
