Carroll: "My summer will consist of a bit of rest but also games with the under-19s. I am looking forward to them.

"You always want to do well for your country just like you do for your club.

"It is a great experience for me.

"All of the appearances in the Newcastle first team left me hungry for more.

"Even if I play five minutes it makes me want to play even more for the first team.

"And hopefully that can continue next season."
