The target this time is rumoured to be teenage winger Darren Ambrose, who has been winning rave reviews for his performance in Nationwide Division One this season.
The article claims that Sir Bobby has watched Ambrose on several occasions and has also researched his character thoroughly (Did Ruud do that with Marcelino?).
They also claim to have spoken to the journalist's best friend, ‘a source at the club’, who told them that Ambrose would be signed to provide cover for Nobby on the right of midfield.
We’ll have to wait until January to see if there is any truth in this one, but surely a defender must be the priority.
