The rumour mill has been relatively slow since the end of the transfer window, but it looks like it’s beginning to swing back into action ahead of the summer.
Once again the Craig Bellamy to Manchester United rumour has re-surfaced, although the facts that the Welshman has recently signed a new deal and the Old Trafford club’s transfer kitty has taken a bit of a hammering in recent times seem to have been missed out of the equation.
Probably not coming through the entrance at St James’ Park are Blackburn duo David Dunn and Lucas Neill, although that hasn’t stopped certain tabloid journalists from suggesting it.
The fact that Dunn would cost a fortune but would be unlikely to get on the bench obviously hasn’t entered their heads.
But still there are certain to be more of these rumours before the week is out.
