Sunday rumour round-up

The forward is PSV Eindhoven’s Serbian international Mateja Kezman, who is apparently keen on a move to either the Premiership or Primera Liga.

The 24-year-old, who has scored 89 times in 105 games for PSV, recently said: "I have won all the prizes in Holland and I need to make the second step."

Newcastle are just one of a number of clubs to be linked with Kezman, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona all reported to be in the race for his signature.

Meanwhile, Sir Bobby has been linked with a £3million bid for Michael Ball – presumably the Rangers full-back and not the pointless singer.

The 24-year-old, one of many players to be capped once by Sven-Goran Eriksson, joined Rangers from Everton for £6.5million in August 2001, but a string of injuries have restricted him to just 19 SPL starts since.

Injured a lot, looked really poor against Manchester United recently and plays in the same position as our one in-form defender, surely Ball isn’t really on Sir Bobby’s shopping list.

Both Andy Griffin and Robbie Elliot are set to leave the club in January if rumours are to be believed.

Griffin will apparently be joining Steve Bruce’s kickers for £100,000, with Elliott heading for the Newcastle left-back’s retirement home at Upton Park.

One man the papers claim won’t be heading for St James’ Park in January is Leeds striker Michael Bridges, who is reportedly on his way to Aston Villa for £500,000.
