McManaman linked with January arrival

The arrival of Ronaldo has pushed the former Liverpool midfielder even further down the pecking order at Madrid and he is hotly tipped to move on in January.

Some Spanish press reports have indicated that he will join Inter as the final part of the Ronaldo deal, while others suggest that Newcastle or Middlesbrough are likely destinations.

However the former England man has always maintained that he is happy in Spain and has no intention of returning to the Premiership.

McManaman’s wage demands would also cause a serious problem for Newcastle and great player that he has been at Madrid he isn’t really a player who would strengthen the squad.

Reports linking Sir Bobby with a move for Chelsea’s French international defender William Gallas appear to be inaccurate, with press reports claiming that he will move to Barcelona in January along with team mate Eidur Gudjohnsen in a combined £15million deal.

If true this would mean that any bid for John Terry would be a waste of time, as he’d be the man to step into Gallas’ place in the Blues defence.

Argentinian giants River Plate have been attempting to sign our out of favour midfielders Clarence Acuna and Christian Bassedas, but with the current economic climate in Argentina neither is keen on the move.
