A report in the Evening Standard earlier in the week claimed that Sir Bobby is not interested in signing Carr anyway and that Freddy Shepherd had only suggested otherwise as a smokescreen.
The reliability of the report is probably best summed up by the further claim that Sir Bobby wants to utilise Darren Ambrose as a full-back, but hopefully the general idea is correct.
