Blades deny Cort report

The Evening Chronicle claimed that the Blades are trying to take the injury-prone giant on loan for three months with a view to a £1.5million permanent deal.

Warnock has previously confirmed that he is on the verge of making a loan signing because of the amount of injuries his squad have but also said that the player would be from a rival first division club.

But just to avoid any confusion about Cort Warnock issued a denial, telling the Sheffield Star: “He was someone I looked at about 12 months ago.”

Realistically have Sheffield United (or any other first division club apart from Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic) got £1.5million to splash out on an injury-prone player?
