Bellamy out, Bridge in?

With Craig Bellamy reportedly priced out of a move to Manchester United who should be interested in signing him but Turkish League leaders Besiktas.

Can they meet the rumoured £25million asking price?

No, according to press reports they merely want to take him to Istanbul on loan.

I don’t think I’m being too controversial by describing that story as completely made up.

Meanwhile The Sun report that we are about to make a £6million bid for Southampton and England full back Wayne Bridge, while nufc.com claim that his club colleague James Beattie is a potential summer transfer target.

Both of those are good players but whether or not they are any better than current squad members is open to debate.

But if Sir Bobby is aiming to end our winless run on the South Coast by buying all of Southampton’s best players it can only be a good thing.

We could have saved ourselves years of agony by buying Matthew Le Tissier at the age of 21.
