Youngsters head for Boundary Park

A combination of losing 13 players over the summer and an injury crisis amongst the few remaining have left the cash-strapped club struggling, so the Football League granted them permission to sign our two youngsters on loan despite being in administration.

Neither goalkeeper Collin or striker Zola-Makongo have featured in our first team yet, but despite that the forward has been the subject of a number of enquiries from second division clubs wanting to take him on loan.

The situation at Oldham Athletic is beginning to look bleak as the Football League have demanded that they prove by September 8 that they will be able to fulfil the rest of this season’s fixtures - an undertaking which will require them to arrange around £1million worth of new investment in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the club’s survival fund can do so via The Oldham Supporters Trust website.
