Yedlin 'No Hard Feelings'

Newcastle United's DeAndre Yedlin has told the Chronicle he has no hard feelings towards Yohan Cabaye after he was on the receiving end of the Crystal Palace midfielder's mistimed tackle on Saturday.

The Frenchman was shown only a yellow card by referee Stuart Attwell, however, although it wasn't to matter as Newcastle snatched a 1-0 win courtesy of Mikel Merino's late header.

Yedlin, though, revealed how Cabaye approached him after the game to discuss the incident.

"It happens," he told the Chronicle. "He was apologetic afterwards but he’s a good guy and it wasn’t intentional. He wasn’t trying to hurt me.

"All was good, we got three points and now we are looking forward to next week."

Newcastle climbed to sixth in the Premier League after seeing off the division's bottom side, despite having only returned to the top flight in August.

And the Magpies could be looking at a bright future at the top of the English game, with a possible takeover in the pipeline.
