Carroll: "The first half wasn't the best, and we came in at half-time and got a bit of a talking to by the gaffer, but we played well and got six goals in the second half.

"Sam played well. He came on at half-time and had an impact straight away by getting the first goal, which set us off.

"My hat-trick was all left foot, wasn't it? They were decent strikes, so I was happy."

Richard Money: "To be honest, I thought we were shocking in the first half.

"We didn't play with any urgency or tempo, and that's not been us, certainly since I've been at the club.

"We had quite a bit to say to them at half-time as you can imagine, and they responded really well and played proper football in the second half. We got the rewards with some very good goals.

"I thought Sammy was excellent. We're trying to nuture him and give him the right amount of time, but it looks like he's got a very, very good future.

"I thought (Shane) Ferguson was excellent as well. We scored six, but we probably could have had 10."
