Would Crouch Have Signed For Newcastle If .... ?

I know what you're thinking .... "it doesn't matter, it didn't happen" ... and you'd be right.

BUT, it worries me that Redknapp has completed his summer dealings and got his full squad together to "bond" ... and the season is getting closer and we have hardly started!

Five players out ... one in ... and we finished the season with the smallest squad in the Premiership!

Meanwhile, down on the south coast, Redknapp surveyed his rich striking talent and insisted: "I'm happy with what I've got".

Pompey will complete the signing of Peter Crouch in the next day or so as the summer strengthening continues.

And let's not forget Crouch ruled out Newcastle as soon as speculation started to grow. Why?

Crouch yesterday agreed personal terms on a reported £11m deal believed to be worth around £75,000 per week and is expected to formally complete his return to Fratton Park tomorrow after a medical.

The England striker will join Jermain Defoe, Kanu, David Nugent and Ben Sahar in an impressive pool of forwards at the Pompey boss' disposal.
