Woodgate Return?

Jonathan Woodgate has yet to play in a white shirt for Real, but he is moving closer to finally making his Madrid debut. And it was interesting to hear Newcastle United chairman Freddie Shepherd saying he spoke yesterday with the defender he sold to La Liga giants in January 2004.
Although Shepherd offered to take the player on loan to help with Woodgate's rehabilitation, there is obviously no deal now that the transfer window is closed. However, Real completed the signing of Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos for £18.4m, making it look increasingly unlikely Woody will feature much this season.
When asked if a return for Woodgate was on the cards, Shepherd said: "No. He just keeps in touch with the lads. Jonathan watched Owen's unveiling on telly and thought it was fantastic. He still has the club at heart and I told him the No 6 shirt is still on the hook."
