The Black Country side, who provided the lowest moment of last season by defeating us in the third round of the FA Cup, won Monday’s Nationwide Division One play-off final against Sheffield United 3-0 to return to the top flight for the first time since 1984.
While the outcome is clearly unfair on the Blades, who finished two places and four points ahead of Wolves in the league, it does present Dave Jones with another chance to manage in the Premiership after his unjust sacking by Southampton.
However it presents us with the dubious pleasure of a trip to Molineux to look forward to next season.
