He may not be French (which is the fashion these days) ... but he does what is asked of him ... and having seen some 'knackers' at right-back over the years, I can name a lot more players I'd like to see the back off than Danny Simpson.
The right-back, currently dating X Factor judge Tulisa, is leaving St James' Park after four years on Tyneside.
Simpson wrote on Twitter: "I just want to say a massive thank you to all the Newcastle fans that have supported me in my four years at the club.
"You will always have a place in my heart. I've loved every minute of it from day one. So once again thank you.
"I'll never forget beating Sunderland 5-1. The comeback vs Arsenal 4-4. Finishing 5th in the league and winning the Championship the way we did."
