Will Huntington Ever Make A Premiership Player?

And such is the case with Paul Huntington.

He never really convinced me he was a player with a future at St James' Park. A decent enough defender, but lacking in all departments to give him that edge to become a true Premiership player.

Newcastle United reserves coach Lee Clark says Paul Huntington's move to Leeds last week was good business for the club and the player.

Clark: "Paul going to Leeds gives one of our youngsters a great opportunity and a chance to stake their claim.

"It means that one of the Academy lads will get their chance.

"Paul was happy with the move to Leeds, they are still a big club and it shows that the Academy is doing its job.

"It gives a player we have developed a career elsewhere in the Football League and it provides us with a transfer fee that we can plough back into the Academy or put into the manager's transfer fund."
