... Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart will face no further action from the Football Association following his confrontation with Hull City's George Boyd.

Hart clashed foreheads with Hull substitute Boyd during a furious exchange in Man City's 2-0 Barclays Premier League win at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The England international was booked by referee Lee Mason for his involvement and the FA has confirmed that - in line with the governing body's own rules - it considers the goalkeeper to have been dealt with.

The FA, however, is still to make a decision on Boyd after pictures appeared to show him spitting in Hart's direction.

The FA was studying Mason's report before determining whether to take further action, although Hart said after the game he did not feel he had been spat at by Boyd.

The flashpoint occurred when Boyd was denied a penalty after claiming to have been fouled by Hart.
