Victory at St James's Park tomorrow is essential.

Not just to take away some of the pain of that derby defeat, but also to prevent the Magpies from being cut adrift in the relegation zone.

Tottenham are on the rise, and we know it. We don't believe WE will go down; but I can promise you; Spurs will not be in the bottom three come May.

And if Joe Kinnear wants to be the 'positives' to the club ... he so often talks about ... Newcastle MUST do it in the next three games.

Perhaps he should face the reality we were second best at the Stadium of Sh***, and all this bullshit "there was nothing between the two teams" is convincing no-one he knows what he is talking about.

Kinnear: "It is very difficult for me to come out with the right words which are suitable for the supporters because I know they must have gone home hurt and feeling low.

"But I believe there was nothing between the two teams and I think if we carry on in the same vein we will win more games than we lose.

"The belief is still there that we can get out of this - this squad is too good to go down.

"You might have heard that before but I am telling you now, there is no chance. There are too many good quality players in this squad now we have got Jonas (Gutierrez) and Joey (Barton) back. I can only see things going forward.

"Of course the league position is a worry and I am worried. I am concerned but I am also experienced enough to know this squad of players won't go down.

"I also know we should not be talking about relegation at a club like this. We should be talking about the other end of the table."
