The Frenchman, who has made an appeal to Arsene Wenger to take him to North London (some chance!), hobbled off in the first half of the game at Hull City after picking up a dead leg.

But, he is likely to replace the suspended Nicky Butt, who earned his fifth yellow card of the season to pick up a one-match ban.

Chris Hughton (told the Chronicle): "Charles was a blow, but we're hoping he's going to be OK.

"He's got a dead leg, and he was very sore and stiff after the game. But that's the nature of the injury.

"We're optimistic he'll be OK for next week, but he certainly won't be doing much training.

"I'm not sure there are too many coming back for the next couple of weeks.

"It's thin, and at the moment we're one short because of suspension as well.

"It's a question of trying to get players back as quickly as we can and not picking up any more injuries."
