Wage Bill Eased as Kluivert is Released

The Dutchman is expected to return to either Spain or Holland having frustrated United staff and supporters with his infrequent appearances and lacklustre attitude.

His departure will recude the club’s annual wage bill by more than £3million.

What was potentially the best signing of last summer has turned out to be one of the worst.  The failings of Kluivert have epitomised our disasterous campaign.  A player that took the club for every penny he could, the striker had no desire to succeed at St.James Park.

Having shown little pride for the black and white shirt, it can however be argued that Kluivert saved his best performance for Osborne Road and the Quayside - his contribution to nightclub coffers will be sorely missed.
