Villa First to make Bellamy Bid

Hot on the heels of Graeme Souness’ reiteration that Bellamy can never play for United again, David O’Leary has made a bid for the troubled striker.

Villa are in the market for a new front man and Craig Bellamy, possibly one of the best available across
Europe this summer, appears to be top of their wanted list.

However, Bellamy will top of many other clubs wish list with Celtic, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers all being touted as potential suitors.

Freddy Shepherd will be looking to recoup the £6million we paid for Bellamy in 2001.

That Bellamy is worth a whole lot more and we will not receive anymore than £6million owes much to the unprofessional manner in which both Souness and Shepherd have criticised Bellamy in public.

Indeed, why should clubs offer anymore than 3 or £4million for a player we have categorically stated can never play for the club again?
