When asked if he had any sympathy for the Wearsiders’ plight, Janmaat said: “No, of course not. We have to look after ourselves.
“We also need the points so we go there for to play for the win. Of course they need points but it’s the same for us.
“It’s going to be a tough game and a big game.
“We need to show what we did against Arsenal in the second half - I really believe that and trust the team.
“We deserved more than that. It was a shame we didn’t get the result to go into the derby.”
Janmaat will come face to face with fellow Dutchman Dick Advocaat for the clash, a manager well known to Janmaat.
