Amdy Faye has had more than his fair share of critics since his £2m move from Portsmouth in January, but delivered arguably his best performance in the black-and-white stripes against Aston Villa last weekend.

Faye: "I was happy to play the game on Saturday. There was a lot of pressure before the game. We had lost three-in-a-row and it was important we didn't lose again, especially at home. There was pressure on the team and for me because I've not been in the team for a while.

"We have a lot of competition for places in midfield, especially in the middle where I play. You have to be ready when your chance comes. When you're not in the team you have to be patient.

"I want to show the fans what I can do. This is a big club and I want to do well here. The manager brought me to the club, and he has shown faith in me. I hope I can get a run of games in the team and I'm confident we can start winning again soon."
