Tyne/Wear Fixture Switch Could Upset War Heroes!

A march to honour our war heroes is set for Newcastle city centre on Sunday, April 20.

Organisers of the annual St George's Day parade fear the game would clash with the parade, and the man behind the parade, Captain Tony Adamson, says he is worried.

Sky bosses will make a decision by the middle of next month.

Capt Adamson: "Sky have the legal right to decide up to a month before a fixture whether they are going to show it.

"Market Street police are waiting for their colleagues at St James's Park to see what the club have been told.

"Once that is known I will be circulating details to the branches and through the media.

"Obviously they can't have a parade and a football match at the same time. There will be thousands in the city centre for the match alone."
