The former Celtic winger joined Wise's Leeds United last season, and Wise made him skipper.
But when Wise jumped ship at Elland Road, Thompson only featured once for the new boss, then he announced his retirement last month.
Wise said he would find a place for him at Newcastle ... and I'd be interested to know what KK thinks about all.
Perhaps running the youth academy is Wise's job ... we don't know.
