Two additional directors added to board

Bruce Shepherd, chairman of Shepherd Offshore PLC and Tim Revill, chairman of BDO Fidecs Chartered Accountants are the two newest members of the board.

A new auditor has also been appointed, with Arthur Anderson resigning amid US scandal.


Statement made by the club:

THE Directors of Newcastle United PLC ,the “Company” today announce the strengthening of the Company’s Board through the appointment of two new non-executive Directors.

Joining the Board as non-executive Directors with immediate effect are Mr Tim Revill, a Chartered Accountant and Chairman of BDO Fidecs Chartered Accountants and Mr Bruce Shepherd, Chairman of Shepherd Offshore plc.

In addition Russell Jones, Property Director of the Company, has expressed his intention to step down from his role as an executive director and from his roles in all other Group Companies, with immediate effect, but continue in the role of a non-executive director. This has been accepted by the Board.

Freddy Shepherd, Acting Chairman of Newcastle United PLC, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Tim and Bruce to the Board. Their experience and knowledge will be a huge asset to Newcastle United. APPOINTMENT OF NEW AUDITOR

Newcastle United PLC today announces that it has appointed KPMG Audit Plc as its auditors with immediate effect, following the resignation of Arthur Andersen
