The Magpies produced superb display at Fratton Park to secure a first league away win of the season.
That performance won the club the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award, decided by a League Managers' Association panel which included Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and provided a significant injection of confidence.
Kinnear: "I'm sure after the victory last week, everyone will be in a better frame of mind.
"Not many teams will put three past Portsmouth down there - it's a tough place to go.
"We are on a decent run now and it gives us confidence for our next game against Tottenham on Sunday."
